With regards to Social Media for your online business, we can show you the beauty and the beast scenario of this type of online marketing. As an example let’s take a look at Facebook as a media for Socializing on the internet.

Recently I started looking at social media as “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” – you never know what connections are going to help, hurt or destroy your online business. Facebook is an online media that brings millions of users together being able to connect with each other at whatever level they choose.

Some users prefer to socialize only, with this community – keeping up to date on what their family and friends are doing is usually the goal with this group of people.

There is another group of users who prefer to use Facebook and other related media’s, as a way to connect to others who share similar interests. These entrepreneurs are looking to build a group of connections to share their business with, the goal is usually to build an online connection, hoping to increase sales.

As an example Facebook is an amazing community where you will meet all walks of life but what we never know are the results we are going to get. As with any action, business or personal, there are risks involved. These risks are not solely related to offline activity but online activity as well.

Whoever you let into your online circle of connections can improve your reputation through professional interaction as well they can hinder or harm your online reputation through deliberate or accidental sabotage.

Since today is Christmas Eve day I thought it would be a great idea to take some out for my family. We have all been going our own separate ways for months now so a little family time was necessary.

We were on our way to visit some relatives and stopped at a local convenience store for a drink for everyone – the normal tradition when on a road trip. On my way into the store my daughter slipped and fell on some ice – no fault of anyone just teenager shoes in the wrong weather. Of course my daughter says the weather was suppose to be warm and sunny – to that I say “Sure everyone expects beach weather in December – I blame the staff at the weather forecasting centers!”

As I was helping her get up this well dressed senior couple was getting out of their vehicle and came over to help. Once we helped my daughter in the store, I thanked the couple and through a conversation with them, we found out they were Internet Marketers, currently using Social Blogging to further their success. Now I know this sounds a bit weird but bear with me… this couple has done very well financially thanks to the Internet. Read more

At the beginning of every year comes New Years Resolutions, where people talk about changing their lives around for better and want more for themselves and their families. The Internet has been the focus of many New Years Resolutions – you want to make more money, work from your home, you dream of a better life for your family. Online you can get started with less capital than offline and see cash flow much faster than offline.

Can this be true for everyone?

Have you heard of social media – what about Web 2.0 Marketing?

Social media is very commonly used by Internet Marketers to promote not only your website but also to market yourself as a trusted source to do business with. Let’s face it, there are thousands of web sites being created everyday on the World Wide Web.

Do you have online social networks as a resource?

Who do you socialize with online?

Do you have business contacts on the internet?

What resources do you have with your online business?

Do you believe you can be successful online by yourself?

Would you prefer to have a reliable and trustworthy network of contacts?

All these questions and yes there is a point for asking you for all of this information.

You see I do have reliable and trusted online social networks and these people make a difference in my internet projects. You need to build a network of contacts, which will give you the opportunity to have a group of people to discuss strategies with as well, a group who will provide you with honest yet constructive criticism.

In my opinion this is necessary as a part of your online strategy. Your online experience is not always going to be a straight forward journey. You will have hurdles and roadblocks to overcome. You will be tested in ways beyond your imagination, to see what strategies you put in place to overcome these obstacles.

Who are you and what are you made of? Are you entrepreneur material? Read more

In our last post (December 18, 2008) we discussed the importance of web analytics as it relates to your internet business. How to interpret and analyze key data from your business activities is imperative to your continued success.

Traffic is great But what about knowing about your traffic, other than it is getting better (increasing) or getting worse (decreasing). Executive overviews of traffic stats needs to include comparative analysis which will provide solid insights into how well your strategies are working.

How do you know what to adjust in your strategy?

Your answer could be- adjust what?

You may be happy or excited about the strategy you are using and maybe you are enjoying some results. You believe these results are good enough, why change anything?

Here is a story about our friend Bill to help illustrate our point:

A few years ago a friend of mine, his name was Bill, built a website to sell MP3 players for which the first two months he received very little traffic. (under 5 visitors a day)

After the first few months his website began to average 75 visitors per day and then suddenly spiked to 150 per day Read more

If you’ve spent any amount of time learning about Internet Marketing, you know that eventually you’re going to need your own product. Product creators are at the top of the scale when it comes to income. Affiliate income is nice, but the real paychecks start coming in when you have hundreds to thousands of people directing traffic to your site to buy your offer.

The reason more people aren’t creating their own products has to do with one simple issue: fear. They fear doing something that is outside of their comfort zone. But the people who really succeed online know that they have to push through the fear to make it happen.

One of the most common fears has to do with product promotion. There are tons Read more

Since 2001 Americans have been able to peek at their Google behavior patterns, showing what their top searches have been.

On Wednesday, December 10, 2008 Google released the most-popular Canuck search queries for the first 11 months of 2008. Canadians have always shared a passion for hockey, beavers and maple syrup but now Canadians have been united in their interests of Face book.com, Politics, Britney Spears and Google can prove it.

This is the first time Canadians have had a peak at their Google behavior, as well, Google released similar results for 35 other countries.

This is a good lesson on keyword and keyword phrases and a great addition in our 7 part series. Google will always show you the hot trends, help you to brainstorm on what is the most searched for terms and they have an arsenal of information on what the competition is doing in the niche you speak of.

Keywords and Keyword phrases is the stuff you are asking Google for – the phrase “Google It” means you are asking Google for information and based on your queries Google supplies you with that information. They go a bit further than this as anything you query on gets stored in a huge database. Read more
