How Do You Write An Article So It is Effective? Part 4 of 4
Today we need to finish up this final part of a four part series on writing an article. There are some very important points we need to sum up here and then it is up to you as to what you will write an article about and what niche you will decide to go with, if you haven’t already.
Let’s start here with making some points on what you need to keep in mind and what is important above all else:
- First, you need to understand your reader has a problem they are looking to solve. As an example, you may have someone who is looking for an investment which has a 35% return. Well you need to come up with a killer title that brings their attention to your product by using a sales title in your article which gives your prospect the idea you have a product which will provide the solution they require.
- Next, point out how this problem can affect their life as a whole – personally, professionally, financially. An effective ad is one of the best ways to get the word out about you and your business.
- Suggest to the prospect ways they can make their situation better – one effective way to do this is by suggesting one to seven ways the reader can solve the problem they have. List each solution by point using bullet form – this makes it attractive to the eye and easier to find after the fact.
- After you have all the bullet points (as I have here) you will want to end your article with a positive spin that really makes your reader motivated and feeling positive that this will be the solution to their problem – Paint a bright picture for your reader – this is huge! This can be done with a paragraph (two at most) that reviews the most important points about your article.
Depending on the method you are using to publish your article, most e-zines prefer to have one or two pages in length, which is approximately 300-600 words. Anything past 750 is too long for this type of publication. Now if you are sending an article to a magazine publisher then you need to be at least 750 up to 900 words in length.
Now you have the basic idea of how to get started writing your article – don’t try to be perfect just get it out there and remember the mother of all skill is REPETITION so keep improving and write an article minimum twice weekly.
